How do you feel about animal testing for products you are using say on your face such as eye shadow, mascara, foundation, or even the mineral power you dust off with?

How do you feel about this? I know I can get a little crazy when you start to talk about animals, I had a copper spaniel until the age of 8 then he got hit by a car, I cried for weeks and weeks. My smart Dad got me another dog- a fox terrier which has been the best, smartest dog ever; I can't even imagine someone wanting to test on him.

Next I would like to go over our first point that animal testing is a type of sacrificing, animals that are used in the animal testing facilities have no choice, they are either raised in these types of facilities or are taken out of animal shelters or taken out of their natural habitat. Animals cannot speak for themselves and the only way that they can complain is from making noises and trying to fight their way out of it, but for the most point animals are born in these facilities and do not know anything different so they are not likely to offer any restraint at first, and because some of the procedures are slow fact finding data the animals are being slowly killed by way of the testing of certain products on them. These tests can cause a great deal of pain, rash, swelling, and a range of side effects that an animal can't explain but will get very sick- wouldn't this be considered inhumane- when something- here an animal is given something that causes harm with out any thought to the animal.

The next point that I would like to address is that animals react to products differently than we do. Various products have different kind of chemicals that are used inside that product to create the "perfect" product, and some humans have allergic reactions to certain types of chemicals. So what makes us think that if we test a product , on animals that this reaction will have the same effect as animals?

Humans are not so different from animals that are used in animal testing facilities; animals react to different things to. Animals can have allergic reactions to products that wouldn't give humans any reactions; it really just depends on the type of product and the animal or human. This is just like the reason why human food is good for humans, but giving an animal human food can make that animal very sick, and if a human eats animal food, they too could become very sick, the two do just not mix, and should not be mixed for a way to test products on, if wanting a product tested they should test the product on other humans, and not animals.

Organic chemistry is a subdiscipline within chemistry involving the scientific study of the structure, properties, composition, reactions, and preparation (by synthesis or by other means) of carbon-based compounds, hydrocarbons, and their derivatives. These compounds may contain any number of other elements, including hydrogen, nitrogen, oxygen, the halogens as well as phosphorus, silicon, and sulfur.[1][2][3]

How do you feel about products being tested on animals? Would you change makeup companies if you knew they practiced this? They do print the ingredients on the package, maybe if you're a bit squeamish about this procedure you could look for more natural/organic products. Some companies have posted on their labels that they do not animal test their products, but that can be a relatively sneaky term so do your homework if it really bothers you. The internet also has many wonderful sites where you can actually look up the product you are using and it will give you all the stats.
