Ever wonder what your life would be if you had a dog? Are you interested in getting a Labrador or a pug? Do you think you can manage to have a pet of your own? True enough, canines never live up to that cliche that a dog can be a man's best friend. Congratulations because you get to have your very own pet. You will surely be happy having him around. They aren't just great to play with but it helps you with exercise routine. Imagine all the calories you get to burn when you take him out for a walk. It will surely be a lot.

As a dog owner, you have to be responsible. You need to consider that it requires money for you to have a pet of your own. It is like you are raising your own child. You are the one who's going to bathe and feed it. Make sure you have enough to buy a pet house. Pet houses are available in the pet store. Purchase its other needs like the nail cutter, anti-flea shampoo and such.

Do remember that you have to be prepared to house him. Keep all the things that it can chew away from its reach. Be prepared and expect that some items in your house get chewed. Construct a door hole. Make one so he can easily get in and out of the house. Fence gates will go well with your house so he won't be excreting his wastes in your neighbor's house.

Don't have any idea as to what breed of canine you are going to buy? Go for German shepherd or a Labrador if you want a big dog. Chihuahuas make a perfect toy dog. Shi Tzu pups are good if you want canines that are hairy.

Again, know your responsibilities. Be sure that he gets his frequent visits to the pet doctor. It is wise if you get a check up from the vet at least every six months. Dogs need vaccinations just like babies. You need to get them as soon as possible. Remind yourself that it needs anti-rabies.

Don't make it a habit to feed him frequently. He is not a pig that you need to shove food in his mouth every now and then.

When it comes to hygiene, buy the anti-flea shampoo. This will help prevent fleas from infesting your pet. Don't bathe it every day so it won't catch a cold. Every other day would work out fine.
