More pet owners are starting to think about their dog's health being tied to their food, and this has them asking what are the best dog food brands?The simple answer is to find the best dog food brands you just need to look at the ingredients listed on the labels.
More pet owners are starting to think about their dog's health being tied to their food, and this has them asking what are the best dog food brands?The simple answer is to find the best dog food brands you just need to look at the ingredients listed on the labels. You would think it would be that simple, but the industry uses words that are picked to confuse the pet owner. When you search for healthy foods for humans the task seems fairly easy, however when checking for the best dog food brands the task becomes very daunting and the facts are certainly unclear and confusing. The problem is the pet food manufactories are allowed to use ingredients that are marked not fit for human consumption in their products. Not only can they use this left over by-product crap, they are allowed to call it healthy sounding names. One would imagine that seeing dried eggs as ingredients for dog foods would mean the foods are good. The fact is that these foods can contain eggs, egg shells, and similar tissues which are unfit for human consumption. In my research for the best dog food brands, I found a list of 68 ingredients like the one listed above, that if found on your dog food label, you should immediately stop feeding it to your dog. 28 of these 68 are actually deadly ingredients, and why they won't kill your dog today, they will shorten her life considerably. We also read and reviewed a dog food report written based on the results of testing agent at a firm searching for the best US dog foods. What I can tell you is after looking at every brand of dog food in North America they only found 9 that made the list of the best dog food brands, based on being healthy selections. 27 brands didn't make the list after consideration, and there are some big names that didn't make it. Product brands such as Iams, Science Diet and Eukanuba were not included on the list. The report continues to be updated, and in this 2nd addition there are six brands that have been removed due to reasons listed in the report. Every brand in the report has a reason why it is healthy or not. Because of my finding of what goes into commercially made dog food, I now feed my dogs a homemade dog food diet. Even knowing what I know there are times that it is just easier to open a bag and pour some food, but I refuse to compromise the health of my dogs. That is why I continued to do research until I found a reliable source for the best dog food brands to supplement my homemade food.
